Our History

Founded by Dr. David M. Tripses, Heartland Surgical Associates (HSA) has provided uncompromising surgical care in the Northland for over 20 years. Dr. Trent L. Failing joined the practice in 1992. As the needs of the community grew, HSA expanded adding Dr. Mangesh D. Oza in 2001. HSA welcomed their fourth surgeon, Dr. Brian J. Wittek, in the summer of 2005. In the spring of 2011, Dr. Keenan Berghoff joined Heartland Surgical Associates as our fifth doctor. Our surgeons collectively have over 50 years experience in the treatment of surgical diseases. Many of our office staff have been with HSA for over ten years and some as long as 20 years.
